W. Scott Weyer, 86, Duncansville, passed away Tuesday.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Richard G. and Dorothy (Weibley) Weyer.
On July 15, 1961, he married Janet L. Flory in Altoona. They shared 64 years of marriage.
In addition to his devoted wife, he is survived by a daughter, Karen Weyer Frank of Hollidaysburg; a son, Jeffrey Weyer of Altoona; grandchildren: Emily, Hannah, Kathryn and Natalie; great grandchildren: Adaline, Chandler and Gideon.
He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Steven; and brothers: James Weibley, Richard Weyer, Charles F. Weyer and David Weyer.
Scott was a 1957 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from Butter Krust Baking Company.
He served in the US Army.
A member of Faith United Church of Christ, Scott was actively involved in his community, notably as a coach for Altoona little league for many years. He was an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Altoona Curve.
Among his many joys, Scott cherished taking his grandchildren on vacations, and he especially enjoyed trips to Florida with his wife in March for Pittsburgh Pirates spring training. Known for his sense of humor, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will be received from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601 where a funeral service will begin at 2 pm with Pastor John L. Emig officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
