Virginia M. Dandrea

Virginia M. “Ginny” Dandrea, 92, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Spangler, Cambria County, PA, daughter of the late Nicholas and Cathrine (McArry) Coover.

On September 14, 1956, she married David L. Dandrea at First Church of Christ in Altoona.

She is survived by her husband, David, of 68 years and a niece, Sharon Rummell. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Rusty.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Horace and Francis Coover and a sister, Sarah.

Virginia was a homemaker. She loved to dance, play bingo, and was a member of the Bavarian Club and the VFW in Juniata. She was involved in horse racing, her horse, The Running Sioux, won three races. She loved her home and always had her yard decorated with artificial flowers that people would pass by and take pictures of.

At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
