Thomas P. Romanchock

October 3, 1938 — July 15, 2022

Thomas Romanchock died peacefully in his sleep July 15, 2022 of terminal cancer. He Is survived by his youngest brother Jimmy Romanchock (Barbara), beloved girlfriend Barbara Clarkson, and his three children Deb Dellapena, Denise Barkus (Ken Barkus), and David Romanchock (Heidi Romanchock). He had the pleasure of enjoying five grandchildren; Roman and Dmitry Dellapena, and Reide, Kamren, and Faithe Barkus. He also was blessed to have many nieces and nephews who live in the Johnstown area with whom he was very close.

Tom served in the Army and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1967. Tom worked at FL Smith as a machinest. He worked for the railroad for a period of time, and he ended his career working for Commercial Envelope Company in Altoona until he retired at age 65.

In addition to his very full life as a machinist, by trade he was a gunsmith. Making some of the most beautiful Pennsylvania Muzzle Loaders you’ve ever seen. He had a passion for collecting, and working on cars. His many corvettes over the years brought him much joy. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. He enjoyed his visits to Montana and his annual trip to Glacier National Park, until it became too difficult for him to travel. Tom had a very colorful personality; he was a remarkable father, grandfather, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend, he will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Gallitzin Sportsmen's Club, 71 McCoy Street, Gallitzin, PA 16641.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James E Van Zandt VA Medical Center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
