Shirley Burket

Shirley Burket, 85, Duncansville, passed away Wednesday at her home.

She was born in Bedford, daughter of the late Russell and Sarah (Claar) Stiffler. She married Woodrow Burket, Jr. who preceded her in death on December 24, 1983.

She is survived by a son, Randy Burkett and wife Sheryl of Altoona; a daughter, Susan Noel of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: Jenna Burkett and fiancé Simon Harris of Raleigh, NC, Jarryd Burkett and wife Kelly Jo of Altoona; Dana Smith of Pittsburgh and Brandie Noel of Tampa, FL; great grandchildren; Violet Smith, JJ Shuta, Lacey, Levie, Nevaeh, Williow Paris and Ryan and Myles Burkett; and a sister, Nancy Jane Strawbridge. She is also survived by her loving companion, Allen Moorhead.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer Stiffler and sister-in-law, Annabelle Stiffler.

Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Bedford High School. She worked at Butterick before retiring and spending over 20 years as a greeter at Walmart in East Freedom, where she was well-known.

At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
