Sharon A. Shoenfelt, 78, of Altoona, passed away Friday at Winchester Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Carl E. McManamy and Mary E. (Haas) McManamy.
She married Ronald E. Shoenfelt, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2025. Their life was defined by deep love, devotion, and an unbreakable bond. Sharon’s love for Ron was evident in everything she did, as she walked beside him as a true partner through life’s joys and challenges, treasuring their many years together.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Cavallaro, and husband, David; her son, Ronald “Rusty” Shoenfelt, and wife, Stephanie; three grandchildren, Kaleb Andrews, Kirstyn Andrews, and Nicholas Shoenfelt; step-grandchildren, Jake Cavallaro and Josh Cavallaro; her brother, Robert McManamy, and wife, Susie; and her brother-in-law, Denny Shoenfelt.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Hunter Andrews.
Sharon was a graduate of Altoona High School. She dedicated many years to the Altoona School District as a cafeteria aide before later retiring from Smart Corporation, where she worked as a medical records specialist.
She volunteered as a poll worker with the Board of Voters and was also a member of the Altoona Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, where she and fellow members lovingly sewed puppets for pediatric patients, bringing comfort and smiles to children.
Sharon enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, swimming, spending time in the sun, and quilting. She loved animals, especially her cat, Haley, and was an avid Penn State fan. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren, and friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, 719 N. 4th Avenue, Altoona, PA.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, 719 N. 4th Avenue, Altoona, PA. Interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
