Sharon L. Dimond

Sharon L. Dimond, 78, Altoona, passed away Thursday at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John T., Jr. and Betty L. (McConahy) Ryen.

On July 2, 1966, she married George W. Dimond in Altoona. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1987.

She is survived by a sister, Peggy Lunglhofer (Dennis); a sister-in-law, Sharon Ryen; a niece, Jodi Ryen; and nephews: Jason Ryen and Travis Lunglhofer.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Dimond; a brother, Roy R. Ryen; and in-laws, George, Sr. and Helen Dimond.

Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired after 32 years of service from Atlantic Broadband where she worked as a customer service representative.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and participating in activities at Maybrook Hills.

Family and friends will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 am. Inurnment will take place at Blair Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you visit a friend or loved one who is currently in a nursing home.
