A graduate of Tyrone High School, Ronald dedicated a significant part of his career to the community. He was the owner of Ron’s Floor and Carpet Cleaning and retired in 2005 from Altoona Hospital, where he served as the Director of Environmental Services and Maintenance. His passion for local leadership led him to serve on the Tyrone Borough Council, as well as being a member of the Tyrone Fire Police and Elks Lodge 212. He was also a faithful member of Greenwood United Methodist Church.

Known affectionately as "Pappy Crackers" to his many grand dogs, Ronald was an avid hunter and golfer.
