Robert Bruce "Bruce" McQuade, 55, passed away on June 10, 2026 after a brief illness.

Born on December 2, 1970, in Altoona, Bruce was the son of the late H. Bruce McQuade and Judith Ann McQuade (née James).

Bruce was a 1988 graduate of Altoona Area High School. Over the years, he worked for several companies as a software support technician, analyst, and data engineer.

He is survived by his mother, Judith; his brother, John (Samantha). He was preceded in death by his father, H. Bruce McQuade.

Bruce enjoyed hiking, biking, following Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, and spending time with his cats. He also had a talent for playing the piano, a gift he rarely shared with others.

Private arrangements are being handled by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Altoona.

Those wishing to honor Bruce's memory may consider a donation to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society in support of the cats and other animals in its care.

Bruce will be remembered by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
