Robert F. James, 81, Queen, formerly of East Juniata, passed away Tuesday morning. He was born in Juniata, son of the late Frank and Geraldine (Lewis) James. He married Alice J. Wilfong in 1961. In addition to his wife, Alice; he is survived by four children: Robert James, Jr. (Holly) of Reading, Lori James (James Link) of Altoona, Jeffrey James (Corinna) of Lancaster and Cheryl Abbott (James) of Altoona; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cindy James of Roaring Spring and three siblings: Charlene Pavloc (Joe) in Florida, Beverly Emig (John) of Duncansville and Donald James of Altoona. He was preceded in death by a son, Adam James; a sister-in-law, Nancy; and two siblings: Howard and David. Robert worked for Sylvania until its closing. He later retired from Commercial Envelope in Claysburg as a plant manager to become a gentleman farmer. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, beekeeping, and woodworking. He most importantly loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. Friends will also be received from 10 until the 11 am funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, May 26, 2023 with Pastor John Emig officiating. Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery.
