Richard Bell Marshall

Richard Bell Marshall, 75, Altoona, passed away Monday evening. He was born in Washington, DC, son of the late Harry and Ruth (Bell) Marshall. On October 16, 1976, he married Sheryl Smith. In addition to his wife, Sheryl, he is survived by four daughters: Joanne Marshall of South Huntingdon, Jelene Barrineau of Altoona, Jendi Marshall of Everett, and Jodi Wade and husband Steve of Lancaster, PA; 13 grandchildren: Brandon Himes, Alyssa Dreistadt, Justin Himes, Lindsay Himes, Marie Barrineau, Seth Barrineau, Luke Barrineau, Levi Barrineau, Noah Wade, Rose Smith, Silas Barrineau, Nathan Wade, and James Swartz; 7 great grandchildren; three siblings: Barbara Perkins, Ronald Marshall, and Beth Bechtol; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five siblings: Betty, Bobby, Buck, Bill, and Bonnie. Richard was a man of all trades. He worked many jobs and most recently was driving dealer trades for Stucky Ford. He was a member of First Church of Christ. He sang in the Altoona Horseshoe Chorus. He enjoyed playing many musical instruments, especially the saw and the marimba. He also enjoyed farming and antique tractors. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 at the First Church of Christ, 113 Good Shepherd Road, Altoona, 16601 with Pastor John Collins officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard’s honor to a ministry of one’s choice.
