Richard Alan Dickinson, Sr., 75, Altoona, passed away Sunday at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Samuel H. and Violet J. (Davis) Dickinson.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Good; three children: Richard Alan Dickinson, Jr. and wife Melanie of Altoona and his children: Kaitlyn, Kole, and Karley; Rebecca Lynn DeArmitt and husband Joel of Martinsburg, WV and their children: Trevor, Noah, and Marissa; and Ryan Alan Dickinson and wife Jeannette of Austin, TX and their children: Rachel, Samuel, Ellie and Jack; step-daughters: Stacy Garlick of Altoona and her children: Madison and Devon and wife Hannah and Jodie O’Connell of Altoona; and great grandsons: Rome and Rocco.
Richard previously owned the Corner Cupboard. He was known for his dedication throughout the years to various youth sports leagues as a PIAA Official.
He was a member of the Newburg Fire Co Social Hall where he enjoyed dancing. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed Penn State Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He also enjoyed golfing with his good friends, Dave Dinges and Bruno Felus.
He served in the Army Reserve.
The family would like to thank UPMC Shadyside for their exceptional care over the years.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where a memorial service will be held at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard’s honor to a local little league or Keystone Softball.
