Michael C. Runk

Michael C. “Mikey” Runk, 19, Altoona, passed away Sunday evening. He was born in Altoona, the beloved son of Michael T. Runk of Altoona, and Jenifer L. (Buck) Runk (Ashley Snyder) of Patton.

Mikey is survived by his two sisters, Emily E. Runk (Courtney) and Megan M. Runk (Zach); his grandparents: Clair and Doris Runk, Timothy and Susan Buck and Virgina Buck; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who never left his side during this tragic time; and special girlfriend, Carissa Diehl.

He was employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Bedford.

Mikey was a kind, caring and soft-spoken young man who loved his family and friends. He could often be found at super Sheetz hanging out with many of his friends.

Mikey has always enjoyed being on two wheels. When he was two, he pushed himself around on a bike until he finally learned how to take off and ride. He knew the streets of Juniata like the back of his hand and spent all his days riding around on anything that had wheels. Mikey was often called the “mayor” of Juniata.

Mikey was and will forever be known for his kindness to everyone who crossed his path.

At the age of 18 Mikey found his true passion for riding motorcycles. After going to work, he purchased a brand new motorcycle that he loved so much. He spent many hours shining it, and it looked brand new every time Mikey went for a ride.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona.

Final services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
