Obituary

Mary Ann Woodring Harr, aged 94, of Altoona, peacefully passed away on Tuesday at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born and raised in Altoona, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dale P. and Erma (College) Lewis.

Mary Ann’s life was marked by resilience and love. She was married twice, first to Robert Woodring and later to Lee Harr, both of whom preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Mary Ann faced many challenges, including a serious accident and the heartbreaking loss of her son, Dale R.C. Woodring. Yet, her unwavering strength and determination never faltered.

She was a devoted mother to her three children: Phyllis Brown (Tom) and Debbie Woodring, both of Altoona, and David Woodring (Eileen) of Myrtle Beach. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren—Melissa Bistline, Heather Brown, Ashley Valentino, and Conner Woodring—as well as her loving great-grandchildren, Adalina, Dalton, Justin, Vivianna, Jonny, and Nickolas. She was also blessed with two great-great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madeline.

Mary Ann’s family was the heart of her life. She was a loving and nurturing presence to all who knew her, treasuring every moment with her children and extended family. In her quieter times, she found joy in playing Bingo and doing crossword puzzles, simple pleasures that brought her happiness.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 4 pm immediately following the visitation. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
