Mary Jane Kingsbury

Mary Jane Kingsbury, 96, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, on Christmas Eve at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Manheim RD, PA, a daughter of the late Harrison Berkenbine and Ida (Lutz) Long. She married Daniel H. Kingsbury on July 11, 1947, in Landisville, Lancaster County, PA. He preceded her in death in February 2015. Mary Jane is survived by one daughter, Susan Biseli (Mark), of Altoona, and one son, Bruce, (Carol), of North Carolina; two granddaughters, Julie Rugh (Randall), of Virginia, and Laura Kingsbury, of Pittsburgh; two great granddaughters, Ellie Rugh and Mae Rugh; and two nephews, Daniel and David Kingsbury. Mary Jane was a homemaker and a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Nutrition and Home Economics. She had worked as a dietician prior to her marriage. Mary Jane was a member of Methodist Women and the Women’s Club of Altoona, as well as a 50+ year member of the Altoona Chapter #290 Order of Eastern Star. She was a big fan of Penn State athletic teams. All Services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
