Mary K. Hillard

Mary K. Hillard, 88, Juniata, passed away late Thursday evening at The Winds at Mattern Orchard. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Leroy and Viola (Keith) Antes. On June 12, 1953 she married James D. Hillard at the Wesley Methodist Church in Juniata. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2018. She is survived by three children: James D. Hillard of Lancaster, PA, Kathryn A. Millward of Altoona, and Matthew T. Hillard (Edith) of Frederick, MD; five granddaughters: Jamie L. Millward of New York, NY, Dawn Ellington (Ben) of Williamsburg, VA, Katie Millward of Altoona, Laura Hillard of Mt. Joy, PA, and Jade Hillard of NAF Misawa, Japan; and two great grandchildren: Andrew Hillard of Mt. Joy, PA and Cara Ellington of Williamsburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church. She was active in the church, loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was always up for a game of pinochle. She also enjoyed sports and attending area sporting events, plays, and musicals. Heaven has gained an angel as she joins her husband of 65 years. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Blair Memorial Park, 3234 E Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, 16601 with Pastor Julia Piper officiating.
