Marie F. Brown

Marie F. Brown, 93, of Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Riggles Gap, daughter of the late Samuel and Flora (Kibler) Hinkle. She married Clair Brown July 14, 1951, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 1958. Surviving are her nieces nephews: Susan Laird of Altoona, nephew Tim Hinkle of Bellwood, Patty Mock of Roaring Spring, Shirley of North Carolina, Linda, Carol, Robert Hinkle, David Hinkle, and Mary Jane-all of Michigan, and a grand-nephew Andrew Hinkle of Bellwood.. Marie retired as an Inspector from Sylvania after 44 years of service. She was a graduate of Altoona High School, and was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she served as a Sacristan for 46 years. She was also a member of the Discalced Camelite Nuns, Third Order. A Funeral mass will be held on 11:00 AM Monday March 7, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be made at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
