Margaretann Cherry

Margaretann Cherry, 79, Altoona, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Allegheny General West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born on September 21, 1941, in New York, a daughter of Mae Lloyd and on May 15, 1966, at the First Church of Christ, Altoona, she married Chester Earl Cherry who preceded her in death on April 14. 1999. Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly A. Lower(Dwayne) of Hollidaysburg, Nicole R. Leech(Gilbert, Jr.), of Bellwood, grandson Joshua J. Lower of Hollidaysburg and a brother, William Castle in N.J. She began her working career at Mid State Bank where she was a teller and retired working in Retail Lending at M&T Bank. She was a graduate of Altoona High School. Her hobbies included gardening, painting, sitting with her two dogs, Susie and Bubba, but, especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Joshua. She also loved singing with the Sweet Adelines. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., and from 10 until the 11 a.m., service on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the First Church of Christ on Juniata Gap Road, Altoona, with Pastor John Collins, officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602.
