M. Carol Rhodes

Margaret Carol Rhodes, 84, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Albert B. and Margaret (Figart) Schalles.

She married Harry Richard Rhodes on March 23,1963. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister, Colleen Shives (Robert); a brother, Albert L. Schalles (Judy); nieces: Kimberly Trostle (Daniel Himes, Jr.) and Heather Schalles; a nephew, Matthew Schalles; and a great nephew, Robert Heck.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul W. Schalles and a nephew, Sonny James Trostle.

Carol was a graduate of Altoona High School and retired from US Sports in Huntingdon where she worked as a plant manager. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church where she was an active member.

Carol enjoyed gardening, racing cars and loved to spend time with her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Greenwood United Methodist Church, 1505 E Walnut Avenue, Altoona, 16602. Inurnment will be made at Greenwood Cemetery.
