Margaret "Peggy" Lantzer, 78, of Tyrone, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday.

Born in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Gertrude Ann (Hepburn) Lantzer.

Peggy is survived by her brother, Thomas Lantzer and his wife, Victoria, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; her nieces, Melissa Lantzer Burks (Joseph) and Jennifer Lantzer; her great-nephew, Drew Burks; and many dear friends whose love, friendship, and support meant so much to her throughout the years.

Peggy dedicated much of her career to serving others as Director of Mental Health at the Altoona Hospital. Through her compassion, professionalism, and commitment, she helped countless individuals and families in the Altoona area navigate some of life's most difficult challenges.

She was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for Penn State football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Peggy also found joy in trout fishing and spending time outdoors. Although she was known for her strong independence and determined spirit, those who knew her best will remember her generous heart and willingness to help others. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she thoughtfully provided meals for the emergency room nurses as a small gesture of appreciation for their tireless service.

In accordance with Peggy's wishes, there will be no public services.
