Obituary

Judith L. Ortmyer, 86, Altoona, passed away Saturday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Shamokin Dam, PA, daughter of the late Benton and Eleanor (Slear) Anderson.

She married Robert E. Ortmyer who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Hardic and husband TR in Altoona; a son, Bob Ortmyer and wife Toby in Vermont; grandchildren: Nate (Ashley), Jared (Ashley), Preston (Morgan), Spencer (Jillian) and Mason (Chelsea); and her cherished great grandchildren: Collins, Hailey Jo, Tessa, Tyler and more on the way; who she adored and loved spending time with.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Anderson.

A devoted member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Riverside, PA, Judith was known for her creativity and craftsmanship. Alongside her husband, she shared a passion for woodworking and was well-regarded in Riverside for their beautifully crafted and hand-painted Christmas tree ornaments. Additionally, she enjoyed knitting blankets and recently found joy in making crafts with diamond dots. Judith played a vital role in the church’s prayer shawl ministry, touching many lives through her generosity.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
