Joyce Ileen Hillard, 81, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly at her home.

She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Louise Elvey and Walter Stayer.

She is survived by two sons: Russell Burk of Altoona and Travis (Dawn) Hillard of Fallen Timber; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Stayer.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Daniel Burk and Michael Hillard; and a sister-in-law, Dottie Stayer.

Above all, Joyce loved her sons and cherished her time with family. She loved the noise and the chaos of a full house. She never turned anyone away. Her quick wit, spunk and sass have created lasting memories filled with love and laughter for all those who knew her.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7pm. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
