Joseph Michael Charles, Sr.

Joseph Michael Charles, Sr., 41, Altoona, passed away unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Altoona, son of Paul Carl Charles III and Sandra Marie (Ritchey) Charles-Park.

He is survived by three children: Alyssa Charles of Indiana, PA, Mikayla Charles of Florida, and Joseph Michael Charles, Jr. of Altoona; mother, Sandra Charles-Park of Altoona; siblings: Tera Charles and fiancé Carlos Santana of Altoona and Paul Charles IV and fiancé Erica Allison of Altoona; and nieces and nephews: Sha’ree, Shawn, Aleysia, Serena, Daryl III, Paul V “PJ”, and Braeden. He is also survived by step brothers: Jeremy, Josh, and Jake Park; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Carl Charles III; step father, Steven Michael Park; a niece, Hayden Charles; grandfathers: George E. Ritchey, Sr. and Frank Pellegrino, Sr.; grandmother, Theresa Ann (Bidoli) Ritchey Pellegrino; and an aunt, Deborah Ritchey.

Joe was a very kind, polite man. He loved to work in his garage and would do anything for anyone at any hour of the day.

The angel said my place was ready, In Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home when God looked down and smiled at me and told me: “Welcome Home” So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think were far apart. Friends will be received from 10 am until Noon on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, where a private memorial service will be held for family at Noon. A celebration of life service will also be held from 5 to 8pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Bavarian Aid Society, 112 S 13^th Street, Altoona, 16602.
