John David Spotts

John David Spotts, 74, Altoona, passed away Friday at his home. He was born in Philipsburg, son of the late William David and Lenora (Mays) Spotts. He is survived by four children: William Spotts of Harrisburg, Nancy Hutton in California, Steven Spotts of Philipsburg and Yvonne Spotts of Hartsdale, NY; five grandchildren: Matilda, Connor, Kayla, Lance and Abigail; a sister, Susan Lewis and husband Bob in Florida; a nephew, David Lewis; close friend of 27 years, Carol Freidhof of Altoona; and adoptive daughter, Lynann Shaffer and her daughter, Linnea. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Clark. John was an instructional designer for Penn State University. He was a member of Elks Lodge # 1173 in Philipsburg, the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed art work and carpentry. He served in the U.S. Air Force. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
