Joanne E. Shank

Joanne E. Shank, 88, Altoona, passed away Thursday morning at the Allegheny Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. She was born in Juniata, a daughter of the late Steve and Olive (Clair) Casper. She married Lawrence J. Shank, Jr. in Winchester, VA. They were married for over 60years before he preceded her in death on July 2, 2019. She is survived by four children: Roxanne Shank of Binghamton, NY, Elizabeth Bettwy (James) of Altoona, Lawrence J., III (Jan) of East Hartland, CT, and Stephen (Ruth) of Altoona; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Joanne was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a dress buyer from Fishers and previously worked at Gables. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
