James Bernard (Bernie) Robinson, 78, Altoona, died Friday night, June 26, 2026, at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.
He was born May 3, 1948, in Altoona, a son of the late James E. and Helen L. (Olson) Robinson. He married Debby S. Jodon on August 23, 1969, in Altoona.
Surviving is his wife Debby of almost 57 years, two sons, Trevor Robinson (Darci), Derek Robinson (An), one daughter Hilary Koch, 8 grandchildren; Meagan, Tyler, Halee, Leili, Lauren, Maleah Koch, Xavier Koch, Jaxson Koch and two great grandchildren, Emerie and Landon. Also surviving are three brothers, Gordy, Alan and Scott Robinson. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Jayne Jodon.
Bernie retired from the Ebensburg Center where he was the Dietary Manager. From 1975-1990 he was the owner/operator of the Dockside Restaurant and Lakeview Luncheonette at Seven Points at Raystown Lake. In 1968 he was Manager of the JC Penney Restaurant and in 1970 he received an award from JC Penney for Best restaurant in JC Penney stores.
He was a 1968 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He also served in the United States Army Reserve.
Friends will be received from 10 am until the 1pm Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Juniata United Methodist Church, 808 N 4th Street, Altoona, with Pastor Denise Haskins, officiating.
