James E. Litzinger, Sr.

James E. “Herk” Litzinger, Sr., 74, Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Altoona, son of James S. and Mary (Shoenfelt) Litzinger. James is survived by his mother, Mary; four children: James, Jr., Patrick and wife Vicki, and Chris; all of Altoona, and Leslie Tiedt and husband Fred of Washington; 9 grandchildren; two siblings: Darlene Wiebly and husband James of Gallitzin and John Litzinger and wife Beverly of Duncansville; and several nieces and nephews. James served in the US Army during Vietnam. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
