He was born in Altoona, son of the late Edward and Ida (Reffner) Korman.

On March 19, 1960, he married Dorothy (Hollen) Korman at Hollentown Assembly of God.

Surviving are his children: Vonda K. and David J (Amy) Korman; and three grandchildren: Rachel, Erin, and Ryan.

He was preceded in death by seven siblings: George, Edward Jr, Thelma, Margaret, Leslie, and Gene.

He graduated from Altoona Senior High School in 1957

James officially retired after being a parking attendant at Gables for over a decade and then he worked as a volunteer for Blair Senior Services for 25 years which he enjoyed greatly and made lifelong friends.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.
