Homer C. Smith, Jr.

Homer C. Smith, Jr., 82, Duncansville, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Homer C. and S. Verna (Walter) Smith. Surviving are numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by a number of cousins as well. A special thank you to special friend and “co-pilot” James Brubaker who joined Homer on many trips to Pittsburgh over the years. Homer retired from UPS as a driver after 30 years of service. He was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, and served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for eight years. He attended Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, and enjoyed his motorcycles, attending the Daytona 500 regularly, and annual trips to Florida. Friends will be received from 3:00-6:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2019, and from 9:30AM until the 11:00 AM funeral service Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor John Leatherman, officiating. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
