Geraldine Blanche Linn

July 31, 1925 — February 3, 2024

Geraldine Blanche (Earnest) Linn has departed on her final trip. She left her daughter Shirley's home in Bossier City, LA for her Heavenly home on February 3, 2024.

Gerry was born to Clyde and Grace (McFalls) Earnest in Altoona PA on July 31, 1925. She married, became a military wife and raised 2 daughters, Shirley Ann Linn Robertson, and Betty Lou Linn Royal while traveling the world.

Gerry was based in Fayetteville NC most of her life. She was always an avid reader, loved crafting and sewing, playing cards, spent countless hours working in her yard and later retired from JC Penney. She was admired for her sense of style that continued into her 90's. In 2002, she relocated to her hometown of Altoona where she volunteered with her sister at the Altoona Hospital making children's puppets. She developed a large group of friends and enjoyed attending their gatherings. Gerry continued her passion for travel by taking numerous European cruises with Shirley. Gerry (born a redhead) was always fiercely independent, driving well into her 90's, even refinishing a rocking chair at age 95. But sadly, when macular degeneration cut into her independence, she moved to Louisiana in 2023 to live with her daughter.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Earnest, the father of her children Jack H. Linn and daughter Betty Royal, as well as her beloved brother-in-law Tom Stellabotte.

Gerry was deeply loved by many family and friends, but especially by her daughter, Shirley Robertson, grandchildren: Tracey Lassiter (Eddie), Stacy Royal (Jodi) and Cathy Bolton (Chip), great grandchildren: Tyler and Kaci Lassiter, Connor Dearing and Haze Bolton, great-great grandchildren: Sadie and Riley Lassiter, her only sister Doris Stellabotte, nieces: Paula, Amy (Dave), nephews: Mike (Leah), Jeff (Mel), Bill (Vickie), Bob (Sally) and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews, all of who lovingly referred to her as 'Aunt Sis'.

A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and Peton who cared for Gerry in her final days.

At Gerrys request, there will be no public viewing.
