Gerald Ray “Butch/Jerry” Henry, 79, Altoona, stepped into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Monday.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late George Samuel and Martha (Green) Henry. On October 13, 1962, he married Judy Hazlett.
In addition to his wife, Judy; he is survived three sons: Cliff and wife Maureen of Delta Junction, Alaska, Todd and wife Kim of Tempe, Arizona, and Kurt of Oxford, Georgia; and ten grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Pat McTigue and Skip Steinbrunner; sisters-in-law, Janet McTigue and Susan Hazlett; and nephews: Johnny Hazlett and Eric Hazlett.
Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a veteran serving in the US Air Force for 14 and a half years during the Vietnam War. He was a Crew Chief working on the C5 and C41 airplanes. Jerry lived with his family in Alaska for 43 years, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He was a loving husband and father and a very giving person.
Friends will be received from 11 am until 1 pm on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm with his son, Cliff officiating. Interment will be made at Alto Reste Park with military honors.
