George E. Ritchey, Jr., passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late George E. Ritchey, Sr. and Theresa Ann (Bidoli) Ritchey Pellegrino.
On August 5, 1972, he married Deborah K. Franell in Altoona. In addition to his wife of 51 years, he is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Canaan (Darrin) and Jami Ritchey (Lewis “Duckie”); all of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren: Brianna, Kelsey, Jasmine, Amya, Aunyah, Kamdyn and Daron; great grandchildren: Kaysen, Karter, Keegan and Jakari; a sister, Nina Ramsey (Eric) of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Walter Ross; and two siblings: Deborah Ritchey and Sandra Ritchey Charles Park.
George enjoyed watching football; he was an avid Penn State and Steelers fan. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. George retired from Waste Management.
Friends will be received from 4 pm until the 5 pm Memorial Service on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata.
