Dorsey L Shaw

Dorsey L. Shaw, 88, of Altoona, died Friday, October 11, 2024, at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born on January 29, 1936, in Tyrone, PA, a son of the late Eugene Kenneth and Mary (Decker) Shaw.  He married Joyce Cowher on June 6, 1959, in Tyrone, PA.

Surviving is his wife, Joyce, of 65 years, one son, Jeff Shaw and wife Holly and one grandson, Steven Shaw, of Newark, Delaware, two daughters Stephanie Eckart and husband, Tim, of Middletown, VA and Ashley of Cookeville, TN and a step granddaughter, Erin Fisher, of Newark, Delaware. He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine and a baby brother, Alan, at birth.

Dorsey retired as a tractor trailer driver at Consolidated Freightways and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for seven and a half years.  His hobbies included hunting, bowling and being outdoors.

At Dorsey's request there will be no public viewing.  Private interment will be at Bald Eagle Cemetery, Tyrone, at the convenience of the family.
