Dorothy Gehret

Dorothy Gehret, 92, formerly of Altoona went to be with the Lord at Presbyterian Village in Hollidaysburg.

She was born June 7, 1933, daughter of the late Benton and Grace (Price) Gutshall. She married James R. Gehret, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 30, 1999.

Surviving are four children, a daughter: Susan Parsons (Bruce) of FL; three sons: William G. of NC; James R. Jr. (Cindy) of Hollidaysburg; and Cory (Shelley) of Altoona. Eight grandchildren: Bruce Jr., Jamie, Travus, Kari, Lauren, Rachel, Mathew and Brady and 19 great grandchildren. The joys of her life.

Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, Altoona.

She worked as an SEA for AAHS. She retired from Blair Medical Associates and Blair Gastroenterology where she was a receptionist.

Dorothy was a volunteer at the Altoona Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Friends will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday July 17, 2025 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 1 PM with Rev. Dr. Barry M. Folmar officiating.
