Doris Helen Massaro, 81, Altoona, passed away Friday evening at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Cloyd and Mildred (Robinson) Barr.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Massaro; three sons: Bob Leskowitz, Bruce Leskowitz and wife Debbie, and Tom Massaro and wife Sharon; grandchildren: Jenna Britton (Tyler), Michael DeGarmo, Matt Massaro (fiancé, Kylee), Nichole Glunt (Mike), Alex Leskowitz (fiancé, Kaylee), Max Leskowitz; great grandchildren: Liam, Owen and Cole Glunt; and siblings: Cloyd Barr, Jr. and Ken Barr.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Massaro.
Doris was an avid gardener, growing the most beautiful flowers for the absolute joy of her daughter-in-law’s, family and friends. She was an amazing seamstress working for many years at Warnaco, flawlessly mending sweaters. She also worked from home with a true passion for making, altering, and mending clothes for her family and friends, working with the same accuracy and care, whether altering a wedding gown or mending a holey pair of blue jeans for her sons and grandsons. But most of all, she was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother a family could ever dream to have.
Whether at one of the fabulous holiday feasts, she would prepare for her entire family or all the baseball games, birthday parties and family milestones she never missed and the endless doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The one thing that was always so apparent was the deepest unwavering love she had for the most important thing in her life… her family.
