Doris Inez Holt, 86, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

She was born in Cleburn, TX, daughter of the late John D. Sain and Lois O’Davis.

She is survived by children: Dana Maddox of TN, Barton Maddox and wife Silvia of Altoona and Thomas Maddox in TN; step-son, Glenn Stanley and wife Angelea in TN; siblings: William Perry Moore in NM, William Ira Moore in TX and Alta Fyae Apantenco in TX. Doris was also cherished by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garvis Holt; a son, Johnny Maddox and eight siblings.

Doris lived a simple and meaningful life, marked by her deep love and devotion. She found great joy in praying for others, a testament to her caring and compassionate spirit.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona.
