Obituary

Doris M. Grimm, 100, went to be with her Lord on Monday.

She was born in Newry, the daughter of the late William J. and Julia (Claar) Holland.

On May 10, 1947, she married Jack W. Grimm in Virginia. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2018.

Doris is survived by her children, Dawn Remtema (Arnie) of Colorado Springs, CO; Rex Grimm (Linda) of Altoona; LuAnn Boltenbach (Bill) of East Fallowfield; and John Grimm (Margaret) of Moscow, PA; as well as eleven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Dennis Holland and Eleanor Weiand.

She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Doris was a 1945 graduate of Morrison Cove High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in public service from Penn State University. She retired in 1993 from Parsons Agency, where she worked as a real estate agent.

A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Doris was also active in her community and political organizations. She was a member of Faithful Followers, served on the Official Board of Elections, and was a member of the Blair County Republicans Committee. She also served as an officer and committee person with Republican Women.

Doris enjoyed swimming, reading and tennis. Throughout her long life, she was known for her faith, dedication to her community, and love for her family.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 pm on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church, 810 Ruskin Drive, Altoona, PA 16602 where a funeral service will begin at 5 pm with Pastor Ronald Anderson officiating. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park.
