Dennis Dean Kraft

Dennis Dean Kraft, 73, Altoona, died late Sunday evening at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Johnstown, son of the late Bernard and Mildred (Dorer) Kraft. He was twice married. He married Geraldine Kraft and she preceded him in death on February 18, 1996. On August 20, 1999, he married Pamela Rickard in Winchester, VA. In addition to his wife, Pamela; he is survived by two sons: Denlee G. Kraft and his daughter, Isabella and Dean G. Kraft; three step-children: Michelle Carr and husband John and their children: Katelyn, Laura, Danielle, and Christopher, Rebecca Van Dike and husband Tim and their son, James Joseph “JJ”, and Erica Cates and husband Charles Peterman and their daughter, Charlie Jo; cousins: Cheryl Brush and Jennifer Starsick; and a large extended family. Dennis graduated with his master’s degree from IUP. He worked as an English teacher for 31 years at the Altoona Area School District where he pioneered the Shakespeare Program. He was a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aide Society and he enjoyed bowling. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
