David Lynn Woleslagle

December 18, 1942 — July 5, 2020

David L. "Dave" Woleslagle, 77, Altoona, passed away July 5, 2020, at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home after a lengthy battle with multiple illnesses. Dave was raised in Tyrone, son of the late Walter and Anna Jane (Conaghan) Woleslagle. On July 22, 1967, he married Sandra K. Lear. In addition to his wife of 52 years, surviving are two children: Holly (Stephen) Kellam of Salem, VA and Jeff (Grace) Woleslagle of Pompton Lakes, NJ; 5 grandchildren: Bethany, Susannah, Charlotte, and Zachary Kellam, and Naomi Woleslagle; and a special cousin Ann (James) Bonsell and brother-in-law Ron (Maria) Lear. He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" (Sue) Woleslagle. A 1961 graduate of Tyrone High School, Dave served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army Reserve, was a former member of the Tyrone Jaycees, and was a former trustee at First Baptist Church of Altoona, PA, where he remained a member. He retired from the Altoona Center, after previously working at Union Tank Car Company, Bethlehem Mine 33 in Ebensburg, and Westvaco and Big Yank in Tyrone. He enjoyed his family, his dogs, watching westerns, the Altoona Curve, and Pittsburgh teams. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at AseraCare and Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. A private family service will be held. Internment will take place at Blair Memorial Park in Bellwood. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hollidaysburg Veteran's Home, Residents Activity Fund, 500 Municipal Drive, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
