David Ivan Summers

David Ivan Summers, 77, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg.

 He was born in Altoona, son of the late Hazen L. and Ada G. (Rauchle) Summers.

 On August 15, 1970, he married Janet Irene Dickson at the Altoona Gospel Temple.

 In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy Allen Summers of Altoona; grandchildren: Billie Jo Green, Jerome Edward Green, Timothy Allen Green and Chelsey Jo Ganey (Bobby); great grandchildren: Adalina Jo Green and Luna Mae Green; and a brother, Paul Eugene Summers and wife, Cynthia, of Altoona.

 David served as the Blair County Deputy Sheriff for 18 years. He enjoyed target shooting, hunting, motorcycle riding and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 He served in the US Army.

 Friends will be received from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, Altoona where a funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 12^th with Pastor Jim Balzano officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Home Care team.
