Dalene E Horton

Mrs. Dalene E. Horton, 89, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of Avalon Road, and Hollidaysburg, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the nursing home.

She was born April 27, 1934 in Altoona, a daughter of Charles F. and Alice (Maurer) Holton.

She married William R. Horton in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 2010.

She is survived by their three daughters: Cynthia Lizzio-Wetzel (Larry) of Kresgeville, Jennifer Ingram (Tim) of Canonsburg and Paula Brennecke (Craig) of Hollidaysburg. She was 'Grammie Lene" to six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by grandson Matthew Lizzio in 2006.

Dalene was an active life member of Mardorf United Methodist Church until she moved to Hollidaysburg. She then attended Hicks Memorial Methodist Church. Dalene was a 1952 graduate of Altoona High School. She worked for Bell Telephone in Altoona and State College from 1967 to 1986 when she was asked to work for AT&T in Pittsburgh. She retired from AT&T in 1999 with 32 years’ service between the two telephone companies. 

Family and friends will be received from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4^th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am with the Rev. Rich Morris officiating.
