Cynthia K. Nicodemus, 70, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Norman LeRoy and Isabelle (Garland) Shope.
She is survived by two sons, Matthew and Brandon Nicodemus, both of Altoona; siblings: Marjorie Westwood of Ephrata, Pa., Cheryl Butler of Stafford, Va. and Linda Becker of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Constance Quarry, Norma Cherry and Darlene Corrado; and a brother, Drew.
Cynthia was a member of Juniata United Methodist Church. She worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime, most recently as a baker for Bella Lucia. She was also the resident on call at the 11th Street Towers.
She enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends, shopping and attending concerts.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., 719 N. Fourth Ave., Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Michelle Bodle officiating.
Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at: UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
