Clarence James Claycomb, Jr., 59, Hanover, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Harrisburg.
He was born in Germany, son of Clarence James and Vema Edith (Weierick) Claycomb.
He is survived by his mother, Vema Claycomb of Hanover; a son, James Claycomb of Hanover; a daughter, Katie Claycomb of Hanover; a sister, Georgeann Swartz and husband Michael of Cherry Hill, NJ; and nieces, Jamie Ann Swartz of Tabernacle, NJ and Michelle Swartz of Riverside, NJ.
Clarence was a 1982 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He attended Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in 1986 and a Master’s degree in 1988. He retired from the Department of Defense on August 31, 2021.
He enjoyed attending antique car shows and collecting and restoring antique cars.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Blair Memorial Park.
