Christopher Allen Cowfer

Christopher Allen Cowfer, 38, Altoona, passed away Sunday.

He was born in Altoona, son of William Brooks and Jamie (Hawes) Parson.

He is survived by his fiancé, April Rhoades; three children: Christopher Allen, II, Logan Andrew and Caitlynn Ryleigh; six siblings: Erika Andruscavage, Alyssa Brooks, Marquie Watson, Jessica Hertzler, Jerame Parson and Cameron Parson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by infant twins, Landan and Elliot, step father, James Parson, and a grandmother, Kathy Barefoot.

Christopher was a Sergeant, Correctional Officer at SCI Benner Township. He served as an honor guard for the prison and enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and camping.

He served in the US Army.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Hillside Community Church, 508 Cambria St., Bellwood; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at the church, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Poe officiating.
