Charles Merrel Crider, Sr.

Charles Merrel Crider, Sr., 82, Altoona, passed away early Wednesday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Merrell and Eleanor (Zimmerman) Crider. He married Martha L. Chipperfield. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2009. Charles is survived by three sisters: Judy Moyer, Eleanor Thompson (Donald), and Sheryl Crider (Joseph); a brother, Duane Crider (Lori); and his loving companion, Charlie. Charles served in the National Guard 9 years during the Vietnam Conflict. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
