Catherine M. Eckard, 68, Altoona, passed away Friday.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Edwin Earl and Margaret Jane (Ott) Eckard.
She is survived by two sons: Jeanraymar Canaan of Altoona and Darrin Canaan and wife Jennifer of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Kasema Canaan of Altoona; a step-son, Aaron Johnson and wife Anita of Philadelphia; grandchildren: Tyre, Aunyah, Daron, Kelsey, Amya, Danasha, Arianna, Emanuel, Dayana and Rajon; great grandchildren: Kaysen, Karter, Keegan, Jakari and Thea; and siblings: Tom Eckard and wife Cathy, Jimmy Eckard, Leon Eckard, Margaret Sprankle and Grace Crossing.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Eckard and the father of her children: Alfred Tyler Canaan.
Catherine’s greatest joy in life was her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
No public services will be held. Arrangements are by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc.
