Betty J. Young

Betty J. Young, 93, Duncansville, passed away Friday, at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. She was born in Martinsburg, daughter of the late Roy Wagner and Margaret (Bousum) Lang. On August 2, 1954, she married Donald R. Young in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2000. Surviving are sons: Kenneth E. (Vanessa McClellan) of Altoona and Terry L. of Duncansville; a step-son, Ralph Wagner; grandchildren: Heather Snyder (Jesse) and Crystal Young of Altoona; great grandchildren: Lucas Snyder, William Osterhout and Parker Young; nieces: Phyllis Kauffman and Kathy Love; and great nieces and nephew: Deresa, Stacey, and Kevin. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald P. and siblings: Alma, Sarah, and Chet; a niece, Margaret; and nephews: Bob, Steve, and Tom. Friends will be received on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Johnston officiating. Interment will be made at Blair Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grane Hospice, 115 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
