Alvetta M. Kearns, 99, Altoona, passed away Sunday at her home.

She was born in Chest Township, daughter of the late Crawford and Dora (Hazelton) Frailey.

On May 1, 1948, she married Bernard Kearns at St. Basil the Great Parish. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2010.

Alvetta is survived by two daughters: Patricia Fleming (Lewis) of Altoona and Susan Knepp of Altoona; two granddaughters: Lisa (Fleming) James (Ron) of Dysart and Michele Fleming of Fallentimber; four great grandchildren: Aaron, Alissa, Rachel and Austin; three great-great grandchildren: Dawson, MY’Heir and MY’Yahna; a brother, Dean Frailey of Irvona; and two sisters: Donna Slingerland of Wellsville, NY and Nancy Holes of Portville, NY.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Kearns and siblings: Heuber Frailey, Robet Frailey, Delma Frailey, Dorothy Stiver, Luella Posanskey, Mabel Brink and Mira Jean Diem.

Alvetta was a homemaker. She was a member of Coalport First United Methodist Church, Coalport, PA.

At the request of the deceased, no public services will be held.
