Alma Darlene Hazlett, 85, of Altoona, peacefully departed this life on Friday to be reunited with her Lord and Savior. Born in Tyrone, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joe and Virginia (Grove) Robinson.

In February of 1960, Darlene united in marriage with John M. Hazlett, sharing many years of love and companionship. Alongside her beloved husband, she is lovingly remembered by her son, Jeff Hazlett and his wife Jackie of Altoona, and her dear sister, Vicki (Robinson) Szebin of Altoona. Her legacy also lives on through numerous devoted grandchildren and great-grandchildren who hold her close in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her four sons: John, Jay, Joseph, and Eric.

Darlene was a devoted member of the Dry Run Independent Baptist Church and played an integral role at the Altoona Bible Institute, where she served as administrator among many other contributions. A woman of many talents, Darlene was truly a jack of all trades whose love for reading and deep faith were pillars throughout her life.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 7 pm. Interment will be made at Grandview Cemetery.
