Margaret E Smith

Margaret E. Smith, 92, Altoona, formerly of Second Street, Juniata, died Wednesday at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born in Juniata, daughter of Roxie Dale. Surviving are her friends: Dorie, Steve, Julie, Jason, Kerri and Dennis Burtnette and Jennifer Cox, all of whom will remember her as "Aunt Margaret." She was preceded in death by her friend, Rhonda Burtnette. Margaret was a graduate of Altoona High School and had been employed as a nurse's aide at Cleveland Hospital. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Juniata, now Juniata United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. Margaret enjoyed gardening and reading. Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, the Rev. Brent Salsgiver officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juniata United Methodist Church.
