Steven Jay Burtnette

Steven Jay Burtnette, 58, Altoona, passed away early Wednesday morning at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was the son of Dolores "Dorie" (Breisacher) Burtnette and the late Edwin Jacque Burtnette. He married Rhonda (Wills) who preceded him in death on October 5, 2010. Steven was a 1974 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was a member of the Juniata United Methodist Church. He was a partner with his late father for Burtnette & Son Construction and enjoyed working in his garage. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters: Julie Burtnette (Tom Cassidy) and Jennifer Cox (Scott); one son: Eric (Alex McCoy); three granddaughters: Kayla Cox, Malia Bittner, Katelyn Cassidy; one brother: Dennis (Kathy); one niece: Kerri Stever (Kevin); and one great-niece: Kailyn Stever, all of Altoona. Family and friends will be received, Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, 719 N 4th Avenue, Juniata, from 2 until the 4 PM funeral service. Pastor Brent Salsgiver and Pastor Donald Ciampa officiating. Interment at Grandview Cemetery.
